NMI Launches Tap to Pay on Google Play Store

New Mastercard-powered app enables small and medium sized merchants to securely accept payments on Android devices without extra hardware

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NMI®, a global leader in embedded payments infrastructure, announces the availability of its new Tap to Pay solution on the Google Play Store. Building on its existing relationship with Mastercard, NMI continues to accelerate payments innovation with its latest Mastercard-powered solution. NMI is the first in the U.S. to offer Cloud Commerce – a cloud native software-based acceptance solution – to its customers. The app turns any eligible Android device into a secure contactless payment acceptance device with no additional hardware or setup required.

With nearly half of all U.S. businesses expected to adopt software point-of-sale (SoftPOS) systems by 2030, merchants are looking for flexible, affordable ways to keep up with evolving payment trends. NMI’s Tap to Pay solution gives its partners a simple way to help merchants and small businesses to accept payments on the Android smartphones or tablets they already use, eliminating the expense and complexity of deploying traditional point of sale equipment.

Businesses can download the Cloud Commerce app from Google Play, log in with their NMI Gateway credentials, and immediately start accepting payments. This seamless, secure and flexible Tap to Pay checkout experience is ideal for a wide range of everyday transactions where speed and convenience matter - from retail and transit to events or on-the-go deliveries.
