Sterne Kessler’s Client RoboticVISION Tech, Inc. Obtains Favorable Settlement

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is pleased to announce that its client, RoboticVISION Tech, Inc. (RVT), has settled its lawsuits against its competitors, ABB Inc. and ABB Ltd.

RVT has ground-breaking intellectual property on 3D object location and guidance that allows robots to identify and interact with manufacturing components, regardless of what position or orientation they may be in. RVT has incorporated this intellectual property into its first-in-class eVisionFactoryÔ software that it sells to automobile manufacturers globally.

RVT alleged that ABB infringed three of RVT’s patents, infringed RVT’s copyright on eVisionFactory, and misappropriated RVT’s trade secrets in two cases before the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. The two cases were dismissed as a result of the settlement on March 24, 2025.

“We are pleased with the terms of this settlement agreement,” said Rick Weidinger, CEO of RVT. “RVT is an innovator in 3D-vision guided robotics. We are proud of our intellectual property and are willing to vigorously enforce it.”

The Sterne Kessler team representing RVT includes Directors Michael Joffre, J.C. Rozendaal, Daniel Block, Will Milliken, Kristina Caggiano Kelly, Anna G. Phillips, and Steve Pappas and Associates Paige Cloud, Brooke McLain, and Ryan Kaiser. The cases are RoboticVISIONTech, Inc. v. ABB Inc., Case No. 1:22-cv-01257 (D. Del.) and RoboticVISIONTech, Inc. v. ABB Inc. et al., Case No. 1:24-cv-00589 (D. Del.).

Sterne Kessler also successfully secured a denial of an inter partes review petition at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Patent Trial and Appeal Board on behalf of RVT in IPR2023-01426, ABB Inc. v. RoboticVISIONTech, Inc., where ABB challenged the validity of one of RVT’s patents.
