New Survey Reveals a Third of Women Report No Pressing Gender Concerns During Women’s History Month

The survey highlights a generational divide in women’s priorities, even as the news cycle amplifies ongoing debate about gender issues

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March marks Women’s History Month—a month dedicated to spotlighting the ongoing fight for gender equality and the well-being of women. However, new data reveals that a third of women (34%) reported no pressing gender equality issues in their lives as stress levels continue to rise among women in the U.S. A recent Censuswide survey of over 2,000 adults (21+), commissioned by Northerner.com, found that in 2025 only a small minority (9%) pointed to gender equity in sports as an urgent concern for them. With conversations about gender equality at the forefront during this month, these findings highlight that women have other, more important matters when it comes to day-to-day life.

Gender Bias in Sports: A Less Critical but Politically Charged Issue

  • 34% of all women reported no pressing gender equality issues in their lives.
  • Among those who did identify concerns, 26% cited equal pay and workplace equity.
  • Only 9% pointed to gender equity challenges in sports, a polarizing topic in US politics.
  • Additionally, 22% of women identified reproductive rights and access to care as serious issues.

Age played a key role in determining priorities:

  • Younger women (21-24) were the most concerned about reproductive rights and access to care (48%).
  • Older women (55+) were the most likely to report no pressing gender-related matters (45%).

"Women have long navigated high-pressure environments while balancing societal expectations due to which we see distinct behavioral patterns emerge," said Marina Murphy, Senior Director of Scientific Affairs at Northerner.com. "Research shows that women are more likely to engage in social connections, leaning on personal networks for support, yet persistent day-to-day challenges can also drive shifts in behavior—whether in decision-making, emotional regulation, or even health-related habits, like smoking. The brain’s response to chronic stress, particularly in women, underscores the importance of providing alternatives to cigarettes and other traditional tobacco products that are reduced-risk and smoke-free."

As more Americans choose tobacco leaf-free options, Northerner aims to stay at the forefront of this movement by offering the best assortment of modern oral nicotine products that are smoke-free to meet the evolving needs of adult consumers. New Critique by Haypp Group Warns Seizure Claims About Nicotine Pouches Overstate Animal Study Findings

STOCKHOLM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Giving mice a chemically induced epileptic condition and then adding nicotine does not prove that nicotine causes or worsens seizures, according to Haypp Group's recently published criticism of a laboratory study on nicotine pouches. The animal experiment used kainic acid, a well-known compound that is deliberately used to trigger seizures in mice. Before seizures were induced, researchers exposed them to nicotine pouches or cannabidiol (CBD), reporting changes in se...
