Bloomfire Names Philip Brittan as New Chief Executive Officer

Technology Veteran to Drive the Next Phase of Innovation and Growth for the Leading Knowledge Management Software Platform

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bloomfire, the AI-powered knowledge management (KM) platform, today announced that former Google executive Philip Brittan has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Brittan’s appointment comes at a time when knowledge management, enterprise search, and business intelligence are converging, requiring organizations to go beyond traditional store-and-search systems to actively drive knowledge value and surface insights for smarter, faster decision-making. Brittan champions this paradigm shift, defining a new category of Enterprise Intelligence as a way of approaching knowledge and its broad value to companies.

"Leaning into Enterprise Intelligence can transform the way businesses think, act, and compete—it's not just about storing knowledge, but dynamically surfacing the right insights at the right moment,” said new Bloomfire CEO Philip Brittan. “Companies that embrace this shift will move faster, innovate more effectively, and make smarter decisions. Bloomfire has already established itself as a trusted partner in helping organizations harness knowledge and eliminate information silos. I’m excited to lead the next chapter of Bloomfire because, in a world that’s drowning in data, the true winners will be the companies that master Enterprise Intelligence.”

Brittan brings more than 30 years of experience leading high-growth technology companies across multiple domains. He previously served as Vice President of Engineering & Product at Google, where he led platform engineering and outbound product management for Google Workspace. Prior to Google, Brittan was Founder and CEO of Crux Informatics, a cloud-native data management startup, and CTO & Global Head of Platform for Thomson Reuters' Financial & Risk division (now Refinitiv/LSEG), where he led a turnaround of product development driving over $6B in revenue.

"Philip has an exceptional track record of scaling technology companies and building products that truly transform how organizations work," said Aaron Davis, Managing Director at Primus Capital and Bloomfire Board Chairman. "His unique combination of entrepreneurial vision and enterprise leadership experience makes him the ideal person to lead Bloomfire as we pioneer the Enterprise Intelligence category."

As a Board Member at Bloomfire since October 2024, Brittan has already been deeply involved in the company's strategic direction. As CEO, he will focus on accelerating product innovation, expanding Bloomfire's AI capabilities, and scaling the company's market presence to meet the growing demand for solutions that transform scattered knowledge into actionable enterprise intelligence.
