Thomas has a long history with MMM, having previously worked at the firm for nearly a decade as a paralegal, law clerk, and associate before gaining additional experience advising domestic and multinational companies on trade and regulatory issues. His practice includes representing clients before the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of the United States Trade Representative as well as in court before the U.S. Court of International Trade and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

“E.J.’s return is a tremendous boost to our International Trade group at a time when new tariff actions have heightened the complexity of international trade regulations,” said Brady Mills, a partner in the International Trade practice at MMM. “His deep understanding of trade law, particularly in high-stakes trade remedy and enforcement matters, makes him an invaluable resource for our clients. We are thrilled to welcome him back to the firm.”

As part of his return, Thomas is looking forward to providing continued excellent representation of the firm’s many clients involved in AD/CVD proceedings and trade policy and customs matters and expanding the firm’s international trade work with Brazilian companies.

“One of my main goals over the next few years is to position our group as a go-to firm for Brazilian exporters and U.S. importers of Brazilian goods facing trade enforcement actions in the United States,” said Thomas. “I’m excited to leverage MMM’s strong international trade practice and work with an exceptional group of lawyers to support these companies and many others in navigating the evolving trade landscape.”

Thomas and the firm’s International Trade practice will also be joined by new International Trade Analyst Dakota Potts, who will be joining the firm from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Thomas earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Georgetown University.
