Tranzon Asset Advisors Complete Sale of Old Carter Whiskey Co.

Old Carter co-founder part of group purchasing Kentucky premium craft whiskey distillery and brand for more than $20.5 million

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tranzon Asset Advisors, a Kentucky-based national accelerated marketing firm, successfully completed the sale of Old Carter Whiskey Co. to an investor group led by Mark Carter, one of the distillery’s original co-founders, for more than $20.5 million. The sale, conducted through a modified sealed bid process and followed by an online auction for qualified bidders, included Old Carter Whiskey Co., Kentucky Spirit Bottling, a substantial inventory of both barreled and packaged whiskey, licenses, and significant real estate holdings in Louisville’s Whiskey Row neighborhood.

Carter and the winning group emerged from a highly competitive auction, attracting more than 220 direct inquiries from across the globe, including the United States, British Virgin Islands, Canada, England, France, India, Italy and Scotland.

Old Carter is a well-known Kentucky premium craft whiskey brand with a luxury product and strong track record of profitability. Its 4,047-square-foot property at 105 W. Market St. features a blending facility and bonded, licensed distillery equipped with a pot still. The sale also included ready-to-sell packaged inventory of approximately 4,900 bottles, along with 1,300 barrels of aging whiskey ranging from four to 25 years old, as well as the properties at 101 W. Market St. and 103 W. Market St.
