SBSB Eastham Elevates Monika Trujillo, Sean Fitzgerald to Partner

New partners strengthen firm’s Chicago leadership team

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Schouest, Bamdas, Soshea, BenMaier & Eastham PLLC (SBSB Eastham) is pleased to announce it has promoted Chicago-based civil trial lawyers Monika Trujillo and Sean Fitzgerald to partner.

Ms. Trujillo, who joined SBSB Eastham in 2020, focuses her practice on Illinois workers’ compensation cases, civil subrogation matters and claims under the Defense Base Act and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. Her work spans a wide range of industries, including municipalities, manufacturers, healthcare providers and service industries.

In addition to her trial work, Ms. Trujillo is on the board of directors for the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association. She has been named to Chicago Lawyer’s list of Top Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, Top Civil Defense Lawyers and Top Women Lawyers. She has also earned Leading Lawyers’ peer-elected recognition as an Emerging Lawyer since 2020, recognizing her to be within the top 2% of lawyers in Illinois and demonstrating exceptional skill, professionalism and ethics in her field of practice.

Mr. Fitzgerald joined SBSB Eastham in November 2021. He is a seasoned litigator whose work includes cases arising under the Defense Base Act, commercial litigation and matters before the U.S. Department of Labor. He also has extensive experience in intellectual property law.

Mr. Fitzgerald is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association. He earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his undergraduate degree from Augustana College.
