Axcelus Financial Names Kimberly Gibson and Henry Komansky to Executive Roles in International Life and Annuity Insurance Companies

HAMILTON, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axcelus Financial (“Axcelus”) has appointed Kimberly Gibson to the role of Senior Market Development Manager and Consultant for the company’s Bermuda operations and Henry Komansky to the position of Group Compliance Officer for Axcelus’ U.S.-based parent company and Chief Risk Officer for the firm’s Bermuda operations.

Ms. Gibson is responsible for the go-to-market planning and distributor relationship management for Axcelus’ Bermuda offerings of private placement life insurance, individual variable annuities and institutional group variable annuities. She has more than twenty-five years of diversified financial services, investment company and wealth management experience as Chief Operating Officer at First Bermuda Securities, Ltd. and Chief Operating Officer of Clarien Investments Limited, a unit of Clarien Bank Limited. She began her investments career with Merrill Lynch in Canada and later served in various roles with registered broker dealer W.P. Securities Limited.

Mr. Komansky has responsibility for compliance, legal, risk management and reporting for Axcelus’ three Bermuda-based Class C insurance companies, Axcelus Financial Life Ltd., Axcelus Financial Global Insurance Ltd. and Axcelus Financial Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Ltd. Previously Mr. Komansky was responsible for internal legal counsel, litigation, regulatory, risk and compliance oversight at several notable firms, including serving as a consultant with Oyster Consulting (Bermuda) Ltd., Chief Compliance Officer with Clarien Bank Limited, Director of Compliance at Sun Life Financial (Bermuda) and Head of Analysis for Bermuda’s Financial Intelligence Agency. Mr. Komansky holds a law degree from Rutgers Law School (New Jersey, U.S.) and a master’s degree from the Vermont Law and Graduate School (Vermont, U.S.).
