49 HCA Healthcare Hospitals Recognized as “America’s Best Hospitals” by Healthgrades

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE:HCA), one of the nation’s leading healthcare providers, today announced that 49 of its hospitals were named on the 2025 Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals list, which recognizes the top 5% of hospitals in the country for clinical excellence. Based exclusively on patient outcomes, the annual designation is reserved for hospitals who demonstrate superior performance in providing care for conditions and procedures across multiple specialty lines and areas.

“At HCA Healthcare, we are driven by clinical excellence,” said Dr. Michael Cuffe, executive vice president and chief clinical officer of HCA Healthcare. “We are consistently focused on developing and sharing best practices across our hospitals to help provide safe, effective and compassionate care. I congratulate our hospitals and caregivers on this achievement, which would not be possible without their inspiring dedication.”

To be considered for the list, hospitals must first have evaluations in at least 21 of the 31 Healthgrades procedures and conditions using independent, publicly available Medicare inpatient data from the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) file from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades then evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

Furthermore, hospitals that have received the America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award in consecutive years over an extended period of time are considered for additional honors. A small percentage of hospitals are recognized for consistently delivering clinical excellence year over year on America’s 50 Best Hospitals and America’s 100 Best Hospitals lists. Evaluated by both their tenure on the list and their current year’s performance, these lists determine Healthgrades’ top 1% and 2% of hospitals respectively.

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina received the America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award for being within the top 1% in the nation for consistent clinical excellence. This is the hospital’s 10th consecutive year being recognized by Healthgrades.

The 10 HCA Healthcare hospitals recognized as America’s 100 Best Hospitals for being within the top 2% in the nation for consistent clinical excellence are:

  • HCA HealthONE Swedish
  • HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge
  • HCA HealthONE Aurora
  • HCA HealthONE Rose
