Port Houston Community Grants Program Application Period Opens February 1

Co-Hosts Grants Management Workshop on January 28

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Port Houston has announced the start of the application period for its Community Grants Program (CGP), beginning February 1. Eligible not-for-profit organizations may submit their Letters of Interest (LOI) to Port Houston starting February 1. Applicants meeting the 2025 CGP’s guidelines and priorities will be invited to complete the full grant application following the close of the LOI period, which ends February 28.

Port Houston is dedicated to supporting and helping improve the communities around the Houston Ship Channel. Its Community Grants Program focuses on investing resources into meaningful projects and programs in our area. Since the program’s inception in 2020, Port Houston has awarded $1.65 million towards initiatives supporting economic and workforce development, revitalizing greenspaces, pollution reduction, and health equity programs.

Port Houston will host two public workshops to highlight this year’s program and allow interested organizations the opportunity to ask clarifying questions about the 2025 CGP process. Workshop dates are scheduled for February 11 and February 20.

On a related note, Port Houston co-hosts a Grants Management workshop on January 28. This free, virtual event is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of how our local non-profit partners can successfully manage awarded grants by learning how to navigate key processes such as award acceptance, identifying and communicating grant requirements, defining roles and responsibilities, inventorying resources and risks, setting up systems and launching the project.

Interested non-profits may access more information about Port Houston’s 2025 Community Grants Program, including dates, times, and links to the workshops, which can be found at https://porthouston.com/community/outreach/community-grants-program/.
