Atwell Expands in the Southeast With Acquisition of SEI Engineering

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of its continued growth and expansion, Atwell has acquired the operations of SEI Engineering, Inc. (SEI). SEI is based in Marietta, Georgia, and has a more than 25-year history of engineering excellence. This acquisition increases Atwell’s depth and strength in the Southeast, particularly in engineering and surveying services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The team at SEI is thrilled to add our experience and unique knowledge base to the already impressive Atwell team,” said Chad Epple, President of SEI. “Our continued success has come from providing exceptional designs on time and within budget, coupled with positive partnerships with clients. We are committed to meeting and exceeding client expectations, which is a key attribute we share with Atwell.”

SEI was founded in 1999 by Chad Epple. With numerous clients across public and private sectors, the company’s projects include several nationally recognized developments (for example, Serenbe), mixed-use developments, educational facilities, public transportation facilities, commercial/industrial complexes, public parks, recreational facilities, and aviation.

“We look forward to the integration of SEI’s skills and connections to a rapidly growing market,” said Ron Waldrop, Senior Vice President at Atwell. “We have made significant investments in the region in the last few years, and the addition of SEI is an important step forward for us in meeting the needs of existing and future clients in the Southeast.”

This acquisition follows four other additions that Atwell made in 2024 to support its ongoing growth and service to its clients throughout the U.S.: Karins and Associates in Delaware, Banks Engineering and Biscayne Engineering in Florida, and Hydro Consultants in Louisiana.
