Syniverse Appoints Mark Maddry as Chief Financial Officer

Senior VP of Business Performance to Succeed Retiring CFO Bill Sansalone

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Syniverse, the world's most connected company®, has appointed Mark Maddry, who has served as Senior Vice President of Business Performance since February 2022, as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Maddry has 25 years of experience driving financial strategy in the telecommunications industry and will oversee Syniverse's global finance operations, including financial planning, reporting processes, and investor relations.

Maddry replaces Bill Sansalone, who joined Syniverse as CFO in January 2023 and will resume his retirement.

"Bill's stewardship was instrumental in strengthening our financial foundation and our relationships with key stakeholders during a period of considerable transformation," said Andrew Davies, Chief Executive Officer at Syniverse. "At the same time, Mark has demonstrated exceptional financial leadership since joining Syniverse. He provided Bill with invaluable support by collaborating with credit agencies, engaging with investors and lenders, and strengthening our internal teams. Mark's deep understanding of our business and proven track record in implementing effective financial strategies make him the ideal choice to serve as CFO."

During his time at Syniverse, Maddry has been instrumental in strengthening investor and lender confidence. He has enhanced financial governance and planning processes, resulting in a 30% improvement in financial visibility, and has driven a 150% increase in ROI for growth-related projects through strategic capital planning.

"We've built extraordinary momentum at Syniverse in recent years — and it's only the beginning," Maddry said. "We have an incredible opportunity to combine rigorous financial discipline with ambitious investments to drive growth, enhance our market-leading position, and create lasting value for our customers and stakeholders."

Before joining Syniverse, Maddry served as Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Sprint/T-Mobile, where he spent 24 years and played a central role in Sprint and T-Mobile's $26 billion merger. He contributed towards a 75% improvement in shareholder value post-merger and led financial integration efforts that included developing the company's long-term financial plan.

Maddry also led a financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team responsible for managing a $30 billion revenue budget, and he drove $2 billion in savings through a companywide transformation initiative. He joined Sprint in July 1996, earned his bachelor's degree from Western Carolina University, and attained his master's degree from the University of Memphis.

Maddry's appointment comes one month after Syniverse was honored as the leader in mobile roaming by Kaleido Intelligence for the fourth consecutive year, and following continuous momentum and connectivity transformation in 2024.
