Axinn Promotes Michael O’Mara to Partner, Lindsey Strang Aberg, Ali Vissichelli, Eva Yung to Counsel

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP announced today that it has promoted Michael O’Mara to partner and Lindsey Strang Aberg, Ali Vissichelli, and Eva Yung to counsel, effective January 1, 2025. Michael, Lindsey, Ali, and Eva work across Axinn’s antitrust and litigation practices.

“Michael, Lindsey, Ali, and Eva are exceptional lawyers whose talent and dedication exemplify Axinn’s core values,” said Managing Partner Jeny Maier. “Their well-deserved promotions reflect the tremendous value they bring to our clients and firm, and we are thrilled to recognize their contributions to our growth and success.”

Michael O’Mara, based in Axinn’s Washington, D.C. office, represents clients in all aspects of antitrust law, including litigation, merger control, investigations, and counseling. During his time at Axinn, Michael has advised on many domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including acquisitions by Dell Technologies, Stanley Black & Decker, Silver Lake Partners, and Tyson Foods, representing these and other clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, and competition regulators in Europe, China, Korea, Japan, and India. Michael’s litigation experience includes defending clients in multiple high-stakes antitrust class actions, including Stanley Black & Decker against allegations of an industry-wide group boycott and multiple PVC manufacturers against allegations of conspiracy to fix the price of PVC pipes.

Lindsey Strang Aberg, based in Axinn’s Washington, D.C. office, maintains an antitrust practice focused on civil litigation, government investigations, mergers and acquisitions, and counseling and compliance. She has litigated multiple class action lawsuits alleging price-fixing by major U.S. protein suppliers and, on the transactional side of her practice, advised Tyson Foods on the $1.2 billion sale of its pet treats business to General Mills. Lindsey has also counseled clients in a wide array of industries to ensure their business practices comply with the evolving regulatory landscape. In her diverse and active pro bono practice, she led a successful effort to recover owed wages for a class of restaurant workers, and successful efforts to secure asylum for multiple Afghan women.

Ali Vissichelli, based in Axinn’s Washington, D.C. office, has litigated civil, multidistrict, and criminal antitrust matters and represented clients in investigations across a range of industries, including financial services and products, technology, and healthcare and pharmaceuticals. She has represented Google in numerous litigations and investigations into its advertising technology business practices in the U.S. and other jurisdictions. In addition, she has advised clients on merger clearances and compliance with the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and has also developed antitrust compliance programs and risk assessments, specifically in the technology and pharmaceutical industries.

Eva Yung, based in Axinn’s New York office, has experience litigating complex contractual disputes, antitrust issues, claims of unfair and deceptive practices, and defamation, with a focus on multidistrict litigation and class action disputes. Among multiple high-profile cases in which she has been involved, she was a major contributor to the successful defense of chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen in a widely publicized lawsuit alleging antitrust and defamation-related claims that resulted in a federal court dismissal. In her pro bono practice, Eva has also represented clients in immigration matters at the agency and appellate levels.
