American Water Charitable Foundation Provides Nearly $500,000 to Eligible Charities Nationwide During Giving Tuesday

CAMDEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced today that it provided nearly $500,000 to charities across the nation during its weeklong Giving Tuesday celebration.

To inspire community giving and celebrate Giving Tuesday, the Foundation provided $100 to every employee via their Giving Rewards Account to donate to an eligible charity of choice meaningful to them. Over 3,900 employees participated, donating $390,000 to support 1,900 charities nationwide.

Additionally, the Foundation awarded Feeding America a $100,000 Corporate Strategic grant, to help address food insecurity and end hunger.

Since 2012, the American Water Charitable Foundation has invested $15.5 million in funding through grants and matching gifts that are important to American Water’s employees and positively impact communities served by American Water.
