Dataduct Networks Integrates Cutting-Edge Solution for Municipal Nova Scotia Broadband Fiber Network with IP Infusion and FONEX

Canada’s largest open-access rural networks upgraded with advanced routing and switching layers to enhance performance and resilience

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IP Infusion, a global leader in open networking solutions, announced today that solution integrator and managed service operator Dataduct Networks is modernizing Nova Scotia’s fiber network with IP Infusion’s advanced networking software. This system upgrade, architected in collaboration with open networking provider FONEX, enables integration of hardware from multiple vendors and implementation of sophisticated features for scalability and resiliency.

The upgrade introduces advanced networking capabilities, including Ethernet VPN (EVPN) and Segment Routing MPLS (SR-MPLS). These technologies automate redundancy, ensuring rapid failover during network disruptions and significantly reducing downtime. IP Infusion’s software powered the deployment of SR-MPLS, enhancing overall network resilience while reducing operational burdens on Dataduct Networks' engineering teams.

Beyond SR-MPLS, IP Infusion’s rich feature set enables Dataduct Networks to optimize and manage the network effectively. Customizable tools support traffic engineering, network slicing, and enhanced security protocols, allowing operators to tailor the system to their specific needs.

“This project demonstrates the importance of selecting the right software to tackle complex networking challenges and secure long-term operational success,” said Richard Bourret, CEO of Dataduct Networks. “As a market leader, we found IP Infusion, with FONEX’s support, to be the ideal long-term partner for this deployment.”

“With IP Infusion and FONEX, Dataduct Networks successfully modernized the county’s optical broadband network. The flexibility of open networking solutions proved invaluable for system upgrades like this,” said Pasquale Di Pierro, CEO of FONEX. “IP Infusion’s domain expertise in open networking operating systems and its performance have proven to be highly competitive in today’s networking market.”

“Intelligent networking software from IP Infusion transforms the value proposition for network upgrades,” said Atsushi Ogata, President and CEO of IP Infusion. “Built on open computing standards, OcNOS guarantees both immediate value and long-term stability.”
