American Water Recognized as One of the Forbes 2025 Most Trusted Companies in America

CAMDEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., today announced it has been recognized on Forbes’ inaugural list of the Most Trusted Companies in America 2025.

Public companies based in the U.S. with more than 1,000 employees were eligible for consideration. Out of 2,000 companies, the top 300 were selected for the list. The rankings are based on measurements across:

  • Employee Trust: Employees’ rating of Glassdoor categories such as an employee’s opportunities for advancement, assessment of company outlook and whether they would recommend their workplace to a friend.
  • Customer Trust: Survey ratings from research company HundredX that assess consumer sentiment regarding companies’ brands and products, social stances, treatment of employees and community support.
  • Investor Trust: Nothing directly indicates trust in a company’s future more than Wall Street betting on its future. Each company’s one- and five-year stock performance, revenue growth, and net-income growth were analyzed.
  • Media Sentiment: Research company SignalAI assessed the volume of positive, negative and neutral coverage of company and product quality, executive leadership, financial strength and more.
