PQ Announces Expansion of Specialty Silica Production

Expansion Will Help Meet Growing Demand for Specialty Silicas around the World

MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PQ, a leading global producer of sodium silicates, specialty silicas, and derivative products, today announced the successful completion of the expansion of its silica production facility in Pasuruan, Indonesia.

The project, which was completed on time and within budget, expanded the facility with a new state-of-the-art micronizer. The addition significantly boosts PQ’s production capabilities, supporting the company in serving the growing demand in the Asian market for high-quality silicas. The expanded facility will also enable PQ to introduce innovative new products to meet the specific needs of our customers in the paints and coatings, personal care, and pharmaceutical markets.
