BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO), the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, announced today several forthcoming activities as part of its ongoing commitment to recognizing and celebrating the Hometown Heroes who serve and protect our communities.

Hometown Heroes Days

From October 26 to November 11, the Company will host its first Hometown Heroes Days celebration at all Tractor Supply and Petsense by Tractor Supply locations nationwide. The event features more than two weeks of promotions and activities to recognize military service members, veterans and first responders. Depending on the location, highlights may include food trucks, live music, an opportunity to shop with local heroes, cook-offs and more. Each store will also provide special “Thank You” postcards that customers can fill out to express their gratitude to those who serve.

On First Responders Day (October 28) and Veterans Day (November 11), verified Hometown Heroes receive an exclusive discount for 10% off their purchase. Hometown Heroes is one of the few recognition programs that provides a discount to military service members, veterans and first responders with no limit on total savings and no brand exclusions. Heroes must complete the Hometown Heroes verification process through Neighbor’s Club to receive their discount.

“Hometown Heroes is an opportunity to celebrate Team Members and customers who have served our country and communities with great bravery,” said Colin Yankee, executive vice president and chief supply chain officer at Tractor Supply, former U.S. Army Captain and son of a police officer. “We are humbled by their selfless sacrifice. Hometown Heroes Days are just one of the many ways we express our deep and enduring appreciation for all of our Hometown Heroes.”

Spotlight Series Honorees

In honor of Hometown Heroes Days, Tractor Supply has announced the next group of individuals in its Hometown Heroes spotlight series. The series highlights Team Members and customers who are military service members, veterans and first responders committed to serving and protecting our way of life in America. Tractor Supply will make a $5,000 donation to a Hometown Hero charity in honor of every featured hero.

The recipients are:

  • Gretchen Evans, Tractor Supply customer. Gretchen was a Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army and a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Her charity of choice is No Barriers - Team UNBROKEN, an adaptive athletic team she founded in 2019.
  • Cornelius Green, Team Member in Dublin, Georgia. Cornelius is a Sergeant with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Department and a member of the SWAT team. The Georgia Police K9 Foundation will receive $5,000 in his honor.
  • Mike Wooddell, Store Manager in McKinney, Texas. Mike served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. His donation will support the Gary Sinise Foundation, which offers programs, services and events for wounded veterans.

These individuals will be recognized in Tractor Supply and Petsense by Tractor Supply stores throughout the Hometown Heroes Days celebration.

Philanthropic Support

Tractor Supply and the Tractor Supply Company Foundation marked the launch of the Hometown Heroes program with a $1 million donation to 10 charities that support military service members, veterans and first responders. In recognition of First Responders Day, the Tractor Supply Company Foundation is donating an additional $50,000 to the National Police Dog Foundation. The National Police Dog Foundation raises funds for the purchase, training and veterinary care of law enforcement K-9s. The Tractor Supply store team in Moorpark, California, will present the donation to the nonprofit on October 28.
