Subway® Canada Encourages Canadians to Purchase a Cookie and Help Feed Kids on October 16th

$1 from every cookie sold on October 16th will support Subway’s Never Miss Lunch™ program in partnership with Food Banks Canada

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As the season of giving continues, Subway® Canada is inviting Canadians to help fight childhood food insecurity through its semi-annual Never Miss Lunch™ program. On October 16th, Subway will donate $1 from every cookie sold to Food Banks Canada, supporting programs that help provide nutritious food to children in need across the country.*

This year also marks five years of Subway’s partnership with Food Banks Canada. Since the launch of the Never Miss Lunch program, Subway has donated more than $5 million, contributing to thousands of food packs for children nationwide. With the support of guests and franchisees, the partnership has been instrumental in delivering critical resources to children facing food insecurity.

“The heartbreaking reality of children going hungry across Canada is a cause we are committed to addressing,” said Courtney Hindorff, Managing Director of Subway Canada. “Over the past five years, our guests, franchisees and partners have united behind this mission, making a tangible impact in communities nationwide. This milestone demonstrates what’s possible when we come together, but there’s still much more we can accomplish. That’s why we’re encouraging Canadians to participate by purchasing a cookie on October 16th to help make a difference for children in need.”

Impact of Partnership

Since the launch of the Never Miss Lunch program, Subway’s partnership with Food Banks Canada has delivered several meaningful outcomes:

“Subway’s support has been instrumental in alleviating the burden of food insecurity on children and their families,” said Kirstin Beardsley, Chief Executive Officer of Food Banks Canada. “Over the past five years, this partnership has given kids the opportunity to thrive by providing the fresh, nutritious food they need.
