Returning Franchisee Kicks Off Ambitious Plan for Arizona Resurgence with Record-Breaking Soft Opening

TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Quiznos has made a triumphant return to Tucson with a record setting opening day at the sub spot’s new location at 2601 East Speedway Blvd., near the University of Arizona campus. The restaurant is the first new full-menu Quiznos to open in the U.S. using the updated business model with a focus on an elevated guest experience and is the first step in a broader plan for 30 new locations across Arizona in the next five to seven years, positioning the state as a key hub for the brand’s resurgence.

Customers lined-up to purchase more than 1,000 items throughout the day, with the brand’s Classic Italian sub leading the way as a guest favorite, followed by Black Angus Steakhouse, Chicken Carbonara, Mesquite Chicken, Turkey Bacon Guac, and the Honey Bacon Club. The sales total for the first full week exceeded our expectations and shows the potential for great future success and was more than double that of the second-highest store in our system.

Parish Patel, franchise owner of the new Tucson location, was thrilled with the turnout for the soft opening, and expects similar success as he expands to new locations within the state.

In the spirit of these strong local ties, the new Tucson restaurant proudly displays an updated interior design with graphics inspired by the local area. Patel is also offering a specialty sandwich named “the Wildcat,” in honor of the beloved University of Arizona mascot. The Wildcat is one of the offerings unique to the Tucson location, along with Philly Fries and Tots, and the new Spicy Philly sub, Chicken Tenders, Bread Bowls and some delicious desserts.
