nLIGHT to Showcase New Laser Technologies to Support Advanced Battery Manufacturing

nLIGHT launching two new laser technologies, WELDForm, and Automatic Parameter Tuning (APT) at the Battery Show North America

CAMAS, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--nLIGHT, Inc. (Nasdaq: LASR), a leading provider of high-power semiconductor and fiber lasers used in the industrial, microfabrication, aerospace, and defense markets, today announced the launch of two new products: WELDForm, and Automatic Parameter Tuning (APT), designed to meet the dynamic requirements of advanced battery manufacturing customers.

To provide the rapidly growing e-mobility market with access to superior laser welding technologies, nLIGHT has developed a suite of products to support enhanced weld quality and quality assurance, which are critical to the successful manufacturing of batteries and battery systems:

  • WELDForm provides melt pool stabilization to reduce spatter and defects in laser welding and enable consistent weld penetration and weld profile control for high performance welding.
  • APT is an AI-based solution that utilizes nLIGHT Plasmo’s process observer technology to enable the automated development of first-time-right system settings for the detection of welding defects, saving significant time and costs.

nLIGHT will be presenting these products at The Battery Show North America in Huntington Place, Detroit, MI, October 7 – 10, booth 3438.
