Comporium Names Tim Smoak Interim Chief Operating Officer

ROCK HILL, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Comporium announced today that Tim Smoak has been promoted and has assumed the role of Executive Vice President and interim Chief Operating Officer.

In his new role, Smoak will oversee the management of Comporium’s Operations workgroup throughout the enterprise. This includes business development, sales, customer care, and marketing. He will also ensure that Comporium has the proper resources, processes, and reporting methods in place to effectively meet the company’s customer service, revenue, and other operating goals in an increasingly competitive market.

Prior to being promoted, Smoak served as Vice President of Business Development for Comporium, where he made recommendations for strategic investments and played a key role in the development of strategic plans. His team helped establish pricing for complex business services and Smoak has proven to be a key player in Comporium’s ability to expand its footprint through grants and other initiatives.

Smoak began working at Comporium in 2001 as a temporary employee and has nearly 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry. He earned a master’s degree in economics from University of Oklahoma and an MBA with a dual concentration in finance and strategic leadership from Winthrop University.
