Growth Veteran Peter Horadan Joins Seattle Identity Verification Startup Vouched As CEO To Drive Next Phase of Growth

Founder John Baird becomes Chairman of the Board and Chief Strategy Officer to continue providing strategic oversight and contributing to the company’s vision and long-term goals

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vouched, the leader in AI-powered identity verification for healthcare, banking and financial services, today announced the appointment of startup veteran Peter Horadan as its new Chief Executive Officer. Peter will leverage his extensive experience to enhance the company’s AI-powered identity verification solutions, continuing his legacy of driving technology transformation in essential industries.

Horadan joins Vouched with a track record in fundraising and driving growth and innovation in SaaS, having created over $20 billion in market cap as Chief Executive or Technology Leader in his prior roles. Peter founded Lockstep in 2019 to create the world’s first connected accounting platform. Upon growing the company’s digital network to connect more than 26,000 companies, Horadan successfully sold the company to The Sage Group, the leader in accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology for SMBs. Prior to that, Horadan built the technology at transactional tax titan Avalara during the critical growth phase leading to the company’s IPO. His career has also included leadership roles at Concur Technologies, Scout Analytics, Microsoft, Corillian, and BEA Systems.

“I have spent my career harnessing technology waves as they transform essential business processes, and I firmly believe the next frontier is identity,” said Peter Horadan, CEO of Vouched. “Identity verification is foundational to online interactions in healthcare, commerce, and cybersecurity. Vouched’s computer vision technology and AI-driven fraud detection models are solving the most complex global identity verification challenges today, and I look forward to building on the company’s strong foundation for this next phase of rapid growth and innovation.”

After founding and driving success for Vouched, founder John Baird will become the company’s Chairman of the Board and Chief Strategy Officer. In this role, he will continue to provide strategic oversight and contribute to the company’s vision and long-term goals.

“I am pleased to welcome Peter as our new CEO and support him in driving future success for Vouched,” said John Baird, Vouched Chairman of the Board and Chief Strategy Officer. “His experience in delivering truly valuable SaaS products and his expertise in building rocket ships will further accelerate Vouched’s growth.”

This appointment follows a series of successes for Vouched. The company recently celebrated placing among the top 3% of fastest growing companies in the U.S., as part of the Inc. 5000 list, as well as placing on the Geekwire 200 List. It also won the 2023 AI Breakthrough award and was a 2024 Hackernoon Startup of the Year winner.
