Güntner Receives 2024 Sustainability Leadership Award from Business Intelligence Group

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Güntner, a global leader in refrigeration and heat exchange technology, today announced that it has been named a recipient of Business Intelligence Group’s 2024 Sustainability Leadership Award. This prestigious award honors organizations worldwide that are making significant strides in reducing their environmental impact.

Güntner’s commitment to a sustainable future is demonstrated through proactive measures and accountability. For nearly a century, Güntner has prioritized the use of natural refrigerants. This year, the company renewed its Natural Refrigerants Label from ATMOsphere, affirming its dedication to environmentally friendly and safe solutions. Natural refrigerants such as carbon dioxide, ammonia, hydrocarbons and water offer viable alternatives to synthetic refrigerants, which contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and pose risks to both people and the environment. Güntner continues to test and explore their use in a state-of-the-art lab, recently pledging to convert its entire product range to eco-friendly substances by 2030.

In addition to its early adoption of natural refrigerants, Güntner takes major steps to reduce energy and water consumption. The company’s adiabatic cooling technology can cut water usage by up to 90% compared to conventional water-cooled systems. In September 2023, Güntner announced six ambitious sustainability pledges to be achieved by 2030 and is on track to successfully meet these self-imposed targets. These pledges are designed to significantly reduce Güntner’s environmental footprint and drive its strategic sustainability mission.

“We’re honored to be recognized as a global sustainability leader by Business Intelligence Group. It’s a true testament of our team’s dedication and continuous efforts to push the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Christian Weiser, Güntner’s CEO. “As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to achieving our sustainability pledges and driving positive change within the refrigeration sector. Together, we can create a more sustainable world for generations to come."

As a global leader, Güntner recognizes its responsibility to promote sustainability and inspire meaning to secure a better future for our planet and generations to come. All Güntner products comply with the AIM Act.
