City of Great Falls, MT Selects Guzman Energy as Wholesale Power Provider

Guzman Energy customer footprint now spans New Mexico, Colorado and Montana

DENVER & GREAT FALLS, Mont.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guzman Energy, a wholesale power provider for U.S. communities, announced today that it has been selected to serve as the wholesale power supply partner for the City of Great Falls, a municipality in north central Montana. A primary feature of the new partnership will be fixed wholesale power pricing that will provide the City with predictable power supply costs for budgeting and planning.

Out of five energy respondents, Guzman Energy was selected through a public RFP process. Guzman Energy provided the City of Great Falls with the lowest competitive pricing structure and the most advantageous energy delivery terms with regard to the City’s energy supply contract. The contract structure ensures the City has firm reliable electric supply from Guzman Energy for the term of the electric supply agreement.

City Manager Greg Doyon stated, “As a Montana municipality, the City of Great Falls is in a unique position to purchase electricity on the open market. The City’s goal is to find electric rates that are stable, predictable and affordable to the taxpayers of Great Falls. We look forward to this new partnership with Guzman.”

The Guzman Energy team brings extensive experience in developing customized energy solutions for cooperatives, municipalities and tribes. The power agreement for the City of Great Falls, MT commences on November 1, 2024.

The addition of the City of Great Falls to the Guzman Energy customer roster is especially noteworthy for being the wholesale power provider’s fifteenth customer and the first to be based outside of New Mexico and Colorado.

“The City of Great Falls, MT is a great example of municipalities working proactively to have certainty around their wholesale power supply cost. We’re delighted to be partnered with them for reliable, fixed price wholesale power,” said Jeffrey M. Heit, Guzman Energy Principal, Managing Director.
