HotelPlanner Announces Appointment of Santiago Vazquez Martinez to Newly Created Role of Chief Investment Officer

Reporting directly to the CEO, Martinez will oversee HotelPlanner’s investment strategy and portfolio globally.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HotelPlanner, a travel technology company and hotel booking platform, today announced the appointment of Santiago Vazquez Martinez to the newly created role of Chief Investment Officer. Reporting directly to Co-founder & CEO Tim Hentschel, Martinez will oversee the company’s global investment strategy and portfolio and related initiatives to accelerate growth and profitability.

Santiago began his career as a financial lawyer for five years, focused on the bank and credit industries. With an emerging passion for financial markets, Santiago moved into the asset management industry where he has spent the last 14 years, including working in Hong Kong for seven years to open the European market for a Hong Kong asset management firm. More recently, Santiago has worked on business development at GVC Gaesco, a European-based asset management company, to open their Japanese market while expanding their Asia-Pacific and EMEA footprint.

Santiago has a bachelor’s degree from La Coruna University, a law degree, and a master’s degree in banking, financial markets and asset management from Bolsas Mercados Espanoles (BME). Santiago resides in London, the headquarters for HotelPlanner’s European operations.
