Grant Thornton announces new leader for Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands for audit, assurance, tax, and advisory services, has named Brandon Young as the firm’s new market managing principal in Oklahoma City. In this role, Young will drive Grant Thornton’s growth in Oklahoma City while helping its professionals deliver personalized services to clients across a range of industries.

Young has more than 25 years of professional services experience, including almost 20 years at Grant Thornton in the office he will now lead.

A tax professional by training, he is highly knowledgeable on tax matters specific to high-wealth family groups as well as both public and private companies — with a special background in the retail and technology industries. His clients include C corporations, S corporations and partnerships. Prior to his new role, Young was the Private Wealth Services Tax leader in Grant Thornton’s Central region.

“Brandon and I have been teammates for nearly 20 years, and time and again, I’ve been impressed by both his constantly-growing knowledge and the way he takes care of the people around him,” said Nichole Jordan, the managing principal of the firm’s Texoma region. “He sets a powerful example by developing genuine relationships with his teammates and clients, and that inspires our people to follow his lead.”

Young’s Oklahoma roots run deep. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, and he has worked in the state ever since, gaining deep familiarity with the major industries powering Oklahoma. His work as a Private Wealth Services leader has also given him valuable experience in major markets beyond the state, thereby strengthening the services he and his team provide clients.

Outside of work, Young is a board member of Vizavance, a nonprofit organization devoted to preventing blindness. He is also a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He looks forward to continuing the strong momentum he and his teammates have created in the community he calls home.

“It’s an honor to take on the role spearheading our firm’s growth in Oklahoma City, and I’m especially excited to help lead so many friends and colleagues who’ve been motivating me for years,” Young said. “Because of our team’s talent, wealth of industry knowledge and knack for personalized service, the future of our firm looks brighter than ever here in the Sooner State.”
