Kopeck brings unique mix of law enforcement and private industry experience to StoneTurn

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StoneTurn announced Steve Kopeck, former U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Agent, has joined the firm as a Partner in its Cybersecurity practice.

Steve brings over two decades of public and private sector experience in complex cyber investigations, forensics and incident response. He advises clients in areas of compliance, due diligence, monitoring, and identity management, as well as crisis communications with regards to data at risk, notification obligations, and mitigation of future risks.

"Today’s organizations are facing increased cyber threats—in volume and complexity—that require deeply rooted knowledge and specialized skills to stay ahead of nefarious actors,” said Luke Tenery, Partner, StoneTurn. “Steve’s addition to our team broadens our bench of experts, helping further our commitment to solving our clients’ most sensitive, complex and emerging issues. We are thrilled to welcome Steve to StoneTurn.”

A trusted adviser to the C-Suite, Steve provides guidance and direction in data risk, regulation, and compliance surrounding all industries impacted by cyber intrusions targeting access and/or impact to sensitive data. Particularly, Steve has supported clients handling protected healthcare information (PHI), and those in government/education, pharmaceuticals, and the payment card industry (PCI). Steve works with clients across industries to successfully formulate cyber defense and mitigation strategies, managing teams throughout the lifecycle of incident response to include pre- and post-incident prevention and mitigation with a focus on managed detection and response.

He also worked as a Senior Forensic Investigations Manager for Verizon’s Research, Investigations, Solutions, Knowledge (RISK) division. Steve began his career in law enforcement, serving for nearly a decade as a Special Agent with the USSS.
