SiebenCarey Personal Injury Attorney Cory Whalen Earns Certification as a Qualified Neutral

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Minneapolis personal injury lawyer Cory Whalen recently added another distinction to his professional resume by completing the extensive Civil Mediation Skills training course as certified by the Minnesota State Supreme Court.

Whalen, a partner at the “Know Your Rights” law firm of SiebenCarey, is now a qualified "Neutral" under Rule 114 of the General Rules of Practice and can provide alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services to attorneys and others in the legal community.

“I’m pleased to offer my services as a Neutral to the Minnesota legal community,” Whalen said. “My decades of experience handling complex personal injury litigation both in settlement negotiations and in trial will be a great asset to those working through dispute resolution.”

The ADR process is an alternative way to settle legal disputes without going to court. An independent third person, called a “Neutral,” helps the parties resolve or narrow their differences. According to the Minnesota Judicial Branch, most civil cases filed in Minnesota are settled using ADR. ADR can be faster and less costly than resolving a matter in court.

Whalen is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an elite organization of accomplished trial attorneys whose qualifications require demonstrated significant courtroom skill and experience, high personal character, and an honorable ethical reputation. Since 2014, Whalen has been selected as an annual Minnesota Super Lawyers® honoree, a distinction bestowed on less than 5% of Minnesota's practicing attorneys.
