Tom Bell Joins TSG’s Board of Advisors

Tom’s expertise spans over 40 years across consulting, technology, and payments

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TSG (The Strawhecker Group), a globally recognized analytics, intelligence, and solutions-focused firm in the payments industry, has announced today the appointment of payments industry leader Tom Bell to the firm’s Board of Advisors. The board seats a select group of key industry executives who actively contribute to the growth of TSG.

Tom’s career spans over forty years of consulting, technology, and payments expertise. Most recently, Tom was the CEO and co-founder of Maast, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Synovus Bank. Maast, founded in 2022, focuses on making embedded finance attainable. Additionally, Tom has served as CEO of Bank of America Merchant Services, MerchantE, and Transaction Services Group. Tom has also served as a board member of the American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC) and FinTech Atlanta. He has served as a member of ETA Presidents Advisory Committee, the Discover Card Acquirer Advisory Council, and is a founding member of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Fintech Task Force and the subsequent Atlanta Federal Reserve Peach Pay Initiative.

“Tom’s experience speaks for itself, and we are excited for him to join the board,” said Mike Strawhecker, President at TSG. “Tom’s history of spearheading strategy, business development, payments technology, and M&A initiatives will help TSG strengthen its offerings to the evolving payments industry.”

In addition to serving as a board member, Tom is joining TSG’s growing roster of nearly twenty Senior Associates and will support client projects.

“I believe success always depends on centering on the benefit to the customer by solving problems with industry-leading solutions,” said Tom Bell. “TSG embodies this belief, and I’m excited to join the board to support new initiatives.”

This appointment follows on the heels of TSG’s inaugural annual letter to the payments industry, highlighting payment acceptance market trends, what’s happening at the firm, and client-focused enhancements to its product and services suite.
