Aramark Recognized as One of the 50 Most Community-Minded Companies in the United States

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a leading global provider of food and facilities services, with operations spanning the education, healthcare, business and industry, sports, leisure, and corrections sectors, today announced it was named a 2024 honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to accelerating people-powered change. The Civic 50 recognizes the top community-minded companies in the United States according to an annual survey.

Throughout the year, and during its annual Aramark Building Community Day, thousands of Aramark employee volunteers work to build vibrant, sustainable communities. The company is committed to enabling employment opportunities, increasing access to healthy food, and creating better environments and community spaces by mobilizing volunteers to share their time and expertise. In 2023, Aramark supported more than one million students, families, and individuals globally through activities that included serving meals, providing snacks and toiletries, donating backpacks and school supplies, leading nutrition education workshops, funding scholarships, and creating educational or employment readiness opportunities.

“Aramark is a hospitality company rooted in service. We’re hundreds of thousands of people working together to bring about the best results for each other, for our clients, for our customers, our stakeholders, and for the communities in which we live and work,” said Debbie Albert, Aramark’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications & Corporate Affairs. “Serving others is just who we are, and we couldn’t be more humbled to be recognized as a 2024 honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light.”

For more than a decade, The Civic 50 has served as the national standard for corporate citizenship, showcasing how leading companies are moving social impact and community to the core of their business. The Civic 50 honorees are companies with annual U.S. revenues of at least $1 billion and are selected based on four dimensions of their corporate citizenship and social impact programs: investment of resources and volunteerism, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies, and systems and impact measurement.

“Expectations for companies to be leaders in civic engagement continue to increase,” said Jennifer Sirangelo, president and CEO, Points of Light. “Aramark demonstrates how to maximize the full range of their assets – from people power to policy to financial contributions – to meet pressing needs and create thriving communities where they live and work. We’re thrilled to uplift and celebrate them as an honoree of The Civic 50 2024.”

Last year, Aramark was an honoree of The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia and ranked #1 in the Philadelphia region for engaging employees, purchasing and supply chain, and promoting a more diverse and inclusive company culture.
