Victory Park Capital Mourns the Passing of Executive Board Chairman, Former U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--We are deeply saddened by the loss of a close friend, colleague, and chairman of our executive board, former U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman.

For those of us who knew him, Sen. Lieberman was not only an advisor but a dedicated mentor and life-long friend. Serving as chairman of our executive board since 2013, he was a steadfast supporter of Victory Park Capital, our team, and our portfolio companies. He firmly believed in the value we bring to our investors and borrowers and had unwavering enthusiasm for the opportunities he saw ahead for us. He has been alongside our team through many milestones in our firm’s history, celebrating our greatest successes with us and helping to guide us through some of our most challenging moments.

Sen. Lieberman’s passing is a palpable loss for the civic and government communities. His advocacy on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Armed Services Committee cemented his prominence as a leader in protecting American security. He will be remembered for his bravery and unique ability to influence constituents on both sides of the aisle to create positive change. He was a champion for equality, education, and accessible healthcare, and made many contributions to a variety of causes close to his heart and in support of the wellbeing of the American people.

Victory Park Capital has lost a dear friend, but the world has lost a rare gem whose life's work was dedicated to bettering the human condition. Our thoughts are with Hadassah and his family, and we share in their grief with heavy but grateful hearts.
