Diversity Research Institute to Honor Diversity First Top Companies for Diversity and their CEOs at the 20th Annual National Diversity & Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX

CEOs of some of America’s largest companies recognized for their companies’ commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

DALLAS--()--The Diversity Research Institute (DRI) today announced it will honor nearly 50 U.S.-based organizations and CEOs for their commitment to diversity at the 20th Annual National Diversity & Leadership Conference at a dinner hosted by Earvin “Magic” Johnson on April 16 from 7-9 p.m. at the Hilton Anotole in Dallas, TX.

The companies to be honored were selected from the U.S. Fortune 500 Governance Report (2023) published by Diversity First and DRI last year. The report evaluates the executive and board demographics of U.S. Fortune 500 companies. It assesses racial/ethnic and gender demographics of each company according to 2019 U.S. Census Data, providing each company with a score and a ranking. The DRI, in affiliation with Diversity First, lists the companies with the highest scores as Diversity First Top 50 Companies. Those companies with the lowest scores are listed as Least Representative of the United States.

“We are proud to see the steady progress that has been made across corporate America in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Dennis Kennedy, founder and chair, Diversity Research Institute and Diversity First. “Companies today recognize that to deliver on their fiduciary duties to their shareholders, diversity in leadership and across the organization is critical to truly understand the mind and buying interests of customers and to provide for the psychological safety of employees.

“This report and the honors we will bestow at the National Diversity & Leadership Conference are designed to acknowledge those companies and their senior-most leaders for recognizing the criticality of DEI to business success,” Kennedy concluded.
