Major General Bob LaBrutta, USAF (Retired) Joins USAA Life Insurance Company as Vice President, Survivorship and Claims

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--USAA, a leading provider of financial services to military members and their families, announces Major General Bob LaBrutta, USAF (Retired) has joined USAA Life Insurance Company (USAA Life) as vice president – serving members after the loss of a loved one.

With a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in the United States Air Force, LaBrutta brings unparalleled expertise and leadership to his new role. Prior to retiring in 2019, he served as director of the Military Force Management Policy, deputy chief of staff for Manpower, Personnel and Services, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. In this role, he established military force management policies for more than 500,000 total personnel for the Air Force’s human resource lifecycle including training, assignment, evaluation, promotion, retention, separation, and retirement programs.

In his new position at USAA, LaBrutta will be responsible for leading the Enterprise Survivor Relations Team and Life Claims. The Survivor Relations team provides support to members during the difficult time after the loss of a loved one. He will also oversee the modernization of life claims processes and systems to deliver memorable experiences when doing business with USAA.

LaBrutta is a lifetime Airman, enlisting in 1981 and later becoming a distinguished graduate of the Air Forces ROTC program at Southwest Texas State University. During his 38 years of service in the Air Force, he served in a wide variety of assignments at home and abroad, with multiple command tours that include squadron, group, two wings, and a numbered air force.
