Chief Announces Inaugural “New Era of Leadership” Awards to Recognize the Executives and Companies Shaping the Future of Business

The awards will recognize women leaders and companies who are redefining traditional leadership models

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Chief, the largest network of senior executive women, is launching The New Era of Leadership Awards to recognize senior executive women and companies who are shaping the future of business.

Nominations will be evaluated on qualitative and quantitative factors by an exemplary panel of judges, including Fortune 500 CEOs, groundbreaking business leaders, thought leaders, and Chief Members. Winners will be selected in May.

In its recently released “The New Era of Leadership” report, Chief, in partnership with Wakefield Research, surveyed 600 U.S. C-suite executives about the attributes that define new-era leadership today. Based on these findings, Chief’s New Era of Leadership Awards will recognize leaders and companies who embody one or more of these characteristics:

  • Innovative: They are here to disrupt. They take risks to create positive change, by leveraging new technology, launching a new product, or revitalizing legacy brands.
  • Empathetic: They put their people first, because they know that people power their companies. From embracing new ways of working, to committing to DEI, they go beyond standard practices to ensure individuals succeed and feel valued.
  • Creative: They spark cultural moments. They’re operating at the intersection of vision and storytelling, launching thought-provoking and industry-leading campaigns, and forging creative partnerships.
  • Purposeful: They’re driven by purpose. They use their influence for good, centering their company around a mission that drives positive change.
  • Resilient: They adapt easily. Whether facing a changing industry, a company pivot, or a full-on crisis, they aren’t afraid of change and have the guts and smarts to navigate it.

“Today’s executives are navigating a business landscape that’s constantly changing — from a volatile economic and political climate to evolving technologies and worker expectations,” said Carolyn Childers, Co-Founder and CEO of Chief. “Leading in this environment requires executives to think and work differently. With these awards, we are excited to recognize and celebrate this New Era of Leadership — the executives and organizations that embody the skills to successfully lead through all of today’s dynamics in business, while also making a difference.”

Eligible nominees are senior executive women and organizations across all industries who have exemplified modern leadership while achieving impressive business results in the 2023 calendar year. Chief membership and/or company affiliation with Chief is not required. There is no cost to apply and the deadline to submit nominations for The New Era of Leadership Awards is March 31, 2024.
