Proven Sales Executive Andrew Kankula Joins Sion Power

TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sion Power Corporation, a leading technology developer of next-generation batteries for electric vehicles (EV), announces today that Mr. Andrew “Andy” Kankula has joined the company as its new Vice President of Business Development. In his new role, Andy will lead the company’s go-to-market commercial strategy and marketing as Sion Power expands its customer base in preparation for its commercial launch of its Licerion lithium metal anode.

Andy brings 25+ years of experience in diverse global markets and industries with proven success at improving revenue, market share, margins, and productivity. He has served on numerous executive committees and boards, such as NAATBatt International, to advise on strategy development, tactical implementation and acquisition strategies that drive revenue growth, cost reduction and improve competitiveness. Andy is also an influential thought leader for his operational and commercial success in EV components and automotive supply, commercial vehicles, specialty chemicals and renewable energy technologies.

Previously, Andy was the Sr. Vice President of Specialty Membrane Solutions and Corporate Business Development at Polypore, a subsidiary of Asahi Kasei. He also led the Auto Catalyst Division at Umicore for South America and was the Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Volvo Bus Corporation, where he doubled sales in only two years.
