Ceres Attends India Energy Week to Discuss Hydrogen’s Role in Industrial Decarbonisation

  • Ceres CEO joins clean energy leaders to discuss collaboration and commercialisation
  • Ceres’ solid oxide technology proven to deliver green hydrogen up to 25% more efficiently
  • 1MW-scale electrolyser on route to Shell’s R&D centre in Bengaluru, India

GOA, India--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ceres Power ("Ceres", "the Company"), a global leader in clean energy technology, today joins India Energy Week 2024 along with 35,000 attendees to discuss collaboration across industry to deliver India’s energy transition goals.

In line with that vision, Ceres can also update that its 1MW-scale electrolyser for green hydrogen has successfully completed testing and is now en route to Shell's site in Bengaluru, India. Shell and Ceres will demonstrate the system to substantiate its performance, cost, and operational functionality.

Phil Caldwell, Chief Executive Officer of Ceres, commented: “Ceres is engaged across the hydrogen value chain to build the market for its highly efficient solid oxide technology in hard-to-abate, high temperature industrial processes, such as green steel, ammonia and synthetic fuels. Ceres’ technology has the potential to reduce the overall costs for green hydrogen by 25%, and we welcome this opportunity to exchange insights with industry and government to facilitate further collaboration in India.”

India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission targets the development of 5 MMTPA of green hydrogen by 2030, which would require the installation over 60GW of electrolyser capacity. Ceres, with its mature and highly differentiated technology and licensing business model, is well-placed to support this localisation mission.

Last month, Ceres signed its latest licensing agreement with Delta Electronics, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions. This partnership entails commercialisation of both fuel cell and electrolyser applications for the global market.

You can catch Phil speaking on Wednesday 7 February between 16:00-17:00 at the Plenary Theatre at India Energy Week. For further information visit www.ceres.tech.
