Industry Veteran Justin Lyons Joins Newly Opened Suffolk Portland, Maine, Office to Drive Operational Excellence in Northern New England

Suffolk expands Portland leadership team with strategic addition of experienced industry professional as Vice President and Project Executive

PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the largest and most innovative construction enterprises in the country, today announced experienced construction professional Justin Lyons will join the company’s newly opened Portland office as Vice President and Project Executive. Mr. Lyons will leverage his strong local relationships and twenty years of industry expertise to drive strategic growth for Suffolk in northern New England.

“Suffolk is thrilled to add Justin to our growing team of industry leaders in Portland,” said John Fish, Chairman and CEO of Suffolk. “As Suffolk expands its presence in northern New England, Justin’s comprehensive understanding of regional client needs will be integral to our mission of delivering operational excellence at every stage of the project lifecycle. I am confident that his strategic insight, proven track record of success and passion for innovation will help Suffolk make lasting positive contributions in northern New England.”

Mr. Lyons’ impressive industry background includes experience as a Project Executive with Landry/French and Consigli, and a 17-year tenure with Turner, where he held various roles across project management and operations functions. Mr. Lyons has managed projects in high-growth sectors including healthcare, higher education and commercial construction, including signature regional projects such as the $240 million Malone Family Tower at Maine Medical Center in Portland and the $625 million Harvard Science and Engineering Complex in Boston. Working with clients including Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital over the course of his career, Mr. Lyons offers clients unparalleled value by leveraging his experience in preconstruction, estimating, project management, operations and client management to ensure project success.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join Suffolk’s leadership team and play a role in the company’s strategic growth in the Portland region,” said Mr. Lyons. “As a New England native who has been embedded in the Maine market for the better part of the last three years, I have come to understand the unique demands faced by our clients here, as well as their need for a sophisticated contractor that provides actionable solutions and delivers on promises. Leveraging Suffolk’s proven processes and innovative spirit, I look forward to partnering with our clients and the local community to deliver state-of-the-art facilities that will support the growth and development of our region.”

Suffolk has been expanding its presence in northern New England, announcing the opening of its Portland office earlier this month. Located downtown on Commercial Street, the office will serve clients in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont in high-potential sectors such as healthcare and higher education. The strategic growth of Suffolk’s northern New England leadership team will help the company diversify its impressive portfolio, which currently includes projects such as the fossil-fuel-free Boston University Center for Computing and Data Sciences, the Boston Children’s Hospital Hale Family Clinical Building, the Northeastern University EXP research center, and the Passive House-certified Winthrop Center.
