Moses Singer Appoints Melissa Bassin and John Baranello to Partner

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Moses & Singer LLP is pleased to announce the election of Melissa Bassin and John Baranello to partner, effective January 1, 2024.

Melissa Bassin – Real Estate

Bassin’s diverse commercial real estate practice involves representing landlords and tenants in leasing transactions across a variety of asset classes including, office, retail, restaurant, and warehouse uses, and purchasers and sellers in the acquisition, financing, and disposition of real property. She earned her JD from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a member of the National Security and Armed Conflict Law Review and International Moot Court Board, and earned her BA from The George Washington University.

John Baranello – Litigation

Baranello is a key member of the firm’s litigation team. Regularly appearing in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts, he advises and represents firm clients in a variety of matters including claims of fraud, trade secret misappropriation, breach of restrictive covenants and shareholder/member disputes. He also counsels start-up businesses and helps individuals navigate through the early phases of new endeavors. He earned his JD from Rutgers School of Law, where he was a co-chair of the Public Interest Law Foundation and a mentor with the Minority Student Program, and earned his BA from Boston College. As the firm’s managing attorney, Baranello also oversees the litigation department clerk’s office, acting as a court liaison and assisting the firm’s litigators with court updates and procedures. John was a summer associate at Moses Singer and has spent his entire career at the firm.
