Trellix Extends Virtual Intrusion Prevention System with AWS Gateway Load Balancer

Integration Expands Infrastructure Scalability and Availability

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trellix, the cybersecurity company delivering the future of extended detection and response (XDR), today announced its enhanced Virtual Intrusion Prevention System (vIPS) 11.1.x integration with AWS Gateway Load Balancer (GWLB) from Amazon Web Services (AWS). The integration streamlines migration to the cloud by offering ease of deployment and enhanced capabilities to handle fluctuating traffic loads.

Trellix IPS+ adds the Trellix Intelligent Virtual Execution (IVX) analysis engine, allowing signatureless (sandbox detonation) detection and behavioral analysis to help identify the most elusive and emerging threats. This multi-layer detection approach ensures higher security and threat mitigation for customers.

“As businesses expand their digital footprints, it is essential they have robust security measures and seamless infrastructure scalability,” says Gareth Maclachlan, Network and Email Security General Manager at Trellix. “Trellix is committed to helping our customers grow their businesses securely. The integration with GWLB means Trellix vIPS+ is easier to deploy, has higher availability, and scales up and down automatically as traffic changes.”

Now extending to the cloud environment, Trellix vIPS+ delivers comprehensive signature and signatureless protection encompassing a wide range of protocols and a leading-edge malware defense system. GWLB provides an essential tool for distributing incoming traffic across multiple targets, enhancing customer applications' availability and fault tolerance. GWLB technology integrates the vIPS appliances for network traffic inspection, providing customers with a scalable and highly available solution.

Benefits of this integration include:

  • Reduced Operational Complexity: Fewer components ease deployment and management, and integration with GWLB simplifies high availability.
  • High Performance: Throughput of up to 1Gbps per sensor with unlimited sensors and automatic scale-in and scale-out to adapt to elastic workloads.

Trellix vIPS is now available in AWS Marketplace. Sign up for a free trial today.
