Alliant Insurance Services Launches Alliant Consumer Group, Names New Underwriting Leadership

Consumer and underwriting groups now housed under the Alliant Underwriting and Consumer Solutions platform

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alliant Insurance Services has announced the launch of Alliant Consumer Group, a dedicated unit that houses the company’s growing portfolio of consumer-facing operations. The arrival of Alliant Consumer Group comes in the midst of Alliant’s ongoing growth and expansion in the consumer market, with more than $6 billion in premiums placed annually.

The new group will be led by Senior Managing Director Rick Ulmer and will house Alliant’s core consumer-facing operations: Confie, Senior Market Sales, and Sunshine Life & Health Advisors. Ulmer has extensive experience integrating organizations and has a diverse background that includes roles in executive management, insurance brokerage, risk management, and business development.

Alliant Consumer Group will be part of Alliant Underwriting and Consumer Solutions, a comprehensive new platform that also includes Alliant Underwriting Solutions, the company’s longstanding program administrator group. Assuming leadership of Alliant Underwriting Solutions is Senior Managing Director Bill Mecklenburg, whose proven guidance has fueled sustained growth within the organization’s SES Risk Solutions and Preferred Concepts underwriting and distribution platforms. The numerous programs administered by Alliant Underwriting Solutions comprise more than $2.5 billion in gross written premiums. Mecklenburg will take on his new responsibilities effective January 1, 2024.
