Ed Freedman’s Stable Road Foundation Thanked By Buddy Program for Long-running Support

MAUI, Hawaii--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Aspen-based Buddy Program, a nonprofit organization that works with local children to provide mentorship and community-building activities, recently thanked Ed Freeman and Stable Road Foundation for a half-decade of financial assistance and mission support.

Since 2018, Stable Road Foundation has donated over $100,000 to the Buddy Program. The money has helped fund the Buddy Program’s four mentoring initiatives, which pair students mentors to help them succeed academically and socially. The Foundation’s donations have also helped cover scholarships and counseling services, which are offered free to charge to local youth and their families.

“The Buddy Program shares Stable Road Foundation’s mission of serving local communities by supporting children and their families,” says Ed Freedman, founder of Stable Road Foundation. “One of our guiding principles here at the Foundation is to always stick by our friends and family, and the Buddy Program has been one of our most valued partners for a long time.”

Freedman has a personal connection to the Buddy Program, where his sister Katie Goldsmith sits on the board of directors. She is also a mentor in the “Buddy Pair” initiative, one of the cornerstone offerings of the nonprofit.

Founded in 1973, the Buddy Program has been a Colorado institution for decades. They currently support over 500 participants and volunteers in the Buddy Program’s projects across the state. In 2023, the Buddy Program celebrated its 50th anniversary by expanding its services and programs to the Glenwood Springs Community.

“We are profoundly grateful to the Stable Road Foundation for their ongoing support and belief in our mission,” says Lindsay Lofaro, executive director of the Buddy Program. “Their commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of young people has been instrumental in our ability to create positive change in our community.”

Stable Road Foundation was founded in 2017, with serving children and their families as one of its primary missions. Today the Foundation works with partners like the Buddy Program around the world to provide much-needed education, nutrition, recreation, and other resources to communities in need.
