Church of the Highlands to Host Annual Event Providing Christmas Gifts for Local Families

Giving Hope Christmas Experience to be hosted at multiple Church of the Highlands locations on December 9 to benefit local families.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Church of the Highlands is excited to announce their upcoming annual Giving Hope event, a Christmas Shopping Mall Experience where families in need can shop for Christmas gifts for their children at no cost. By providing tangible gifts to families who may otherwise not be able to provide gifts for their children this year, Church of the Highlands is able to practically share the love and generosity of Jesus with families and their local communities while meeting their physical needs.

Giving Hope will take place at 25 locations across the states of Alabama and Georgia on December 9, 2023, allowing each of these communities to be impacted by their local church. Schools and community centers are able to nominate families in their communities who could benefit from this effort and those nominated are invited to join this event at the campus nearest them.

Church members and attendees at every Highlands location volunteer to adopt a packet and sponsor a family, shopping and providing gifts for children of the gender and age group of their choice. Packets are available to pickup at Highlands campuses throughout the month of November. In addition to buying gifts for the experience, the Highlands volunteer team, known as the Dream Team, will volunteer their time and talents on the day of the event to host parents, wrap gifts, inventory supplies, and more.

Approximately ten thousand children representing thousands of families are expected to be served at this event, providing all of the gifts needed for their Christmas this year, allowing parents to choose gifts for each child and leave the experience with the gifts wrapped and ready to give to their children for Christmas. By allowing parents to choose the gifts and give them to the children themselves, the parent gets to provide Christmas for their children. Church of the Highlands is honored to be a part of an event that will allow parents to be the heroes for their children and to give the lifelong gift of hope to the families involved.
