CTBC Releases Brand Promotional Video to Tell Story of Expatriate Employees in Thailand

TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--After two years of preparation, CTBC released a brand promotional video titled “Home Away From Home” on Nov. 13. In the form of a mini-documentary, this video tells a story about how CTBC’s expatriate employees in Thailand overcome their challenges with their courage and hard work amid the COVID-19 pandemic and depicts a family-like relationship between the Taiwanese and Thai staff.

Noting that the financial industry involves people-centered businesses, CTBC Bank chairman Morris Li encourages expatriate employees to serve local customers or communicate with their colleagues with empathy as they are faced with local customs and practices in a foreign country. Li believes that, with good products and excellent services, CTBC Bank will become a leading bank in the Asia-Pacific region.

CTBC Bank President Tony Yang said that, in response to CTBC Bank’s ambition to expand international business, the promotional video shows partners of different races and across borders are all one family, widening the meaning of “family” to “one global family.” Thanks to the efforts and resilience of CTBC’s expatriate employees to help deepen its overseas presence, CTBC Bank has become the most international bank in Taiwan, with branches in Greater China, Japan, North America, and Southeast Asia, providing comprehensive cross-border financial services for international companies.

The promotional video follows three CTBC’s expatriate employees—Henry, Semmi, and Century—who were sent to work in Thailand’s LH Financial Group Public Company Limited (LHFG), one of CTBC’s subsidiaries. The trio overcame homesick, language barriers, and cultural boundaries at the workplace in the foreign country, integrating themselves into local society and developing friendships with their Thai colleagues.

LHFG President Shih, Jiing-fuh said that CTBC believes that “family” transcends geographic constraints and blood ties, and that the company hopes to broaden the meaning of “family” by embracing employees from different countries. The promotional video is available on the Facebook page of Home Run Taiwan or YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=819KF9USoBA
