Forbright Bank Honored by American Banker as a Best Bank to Work For 2023

CHEVY CHASE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Forbright Bank, a nationwide full-service bank helping accelerate the transition to a sustainable and low-carbon economy, is proud to be recognized as one of American Banker’s Best Banks to Work For 2023. Forbright’s workplace culture reflects the Bank’s approach to sustainability which runs throughout its lending, operations, and community impact.

"We are honored to be recognized as a Best Bank to Work For by American Banker,” said Don Cole, Chief Executive Officer at Forbright Bank. “Today’s award reflects the hard work and dedication of our team, who consistently strive to provide exceptional customer service, innovative solutions, and keep sustainability at the core of our business. We recognize that our commitment to sustainability makes Forbright and its workplace culture unique.”

The annual list examines employee satisfaction, bank policies, and employee benefits across hundreds of institutions in America. American Banker sourced “Best Companies Group” an independent research firm to manage two different blind employee surveys to measure employee satisfaction across categories such as communication, happiness with role, and work environment. Overall, the average score of positive responses for the banks that made the list was 95%, compared with 89% for the institutions that didn't make the list.

Forbright is committed to building a bank for a brighter future through its lending, business practices, and community impact.

  • Lending: Today, nearly a third of the Bank’s portfolio directly funds clean energy and sustainable oriented projects. Forbright finances millions in residential solar loans, green building upgrades, affordable housing, and accessible healthcare.
  • Business Practices: The Bank’s approach to sustainability runs throughout its operations and employee benefits. The Bank is carbon neutral in its operational footprint and employees receive bonuses for purchasing solar panels, electric vehicles, and biking to work, in addition to benefiting from sustainable subscriptions like compost programs and Imperfect Foods.
  • Community Impact: Last year, the Bank expanded its community partnerships – tripling its corporate giving to benefit 60 nonprofit organizations and increasing its supplier spend to diverse and small businesses.
