NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Cabinet Health launched its refillable mail-order prescription solution. Cabinet Health Rx is a direct-to-consumer healthcare service dedicated to improving the pharmacy patient experience and the environmental impact of the pharmaceutical industry.
Cabinet Health Rx enters the market with more than 150 of the most commonly used prescription drugs. Each new patient onboards with a personally designed refillable glass bottle and is partnered with a dedicated Cabinet Care professional. Once on the platform, patients receive easy mail-order refills, over-the-counter medicine and supplements at a discounted member rate, on demand healthcare support, and access to a suite of sustainable packaging solutions designed to support patients in their healthcare needs.
“Patient care and environmental sustainability are inextricably linked,” said Achal Patel, co-founder & CEO of Cabinet. “Cabinet Rx provides our patients with the highest quality sourced medicines, personalized care, and sustainable packaging that is better for the environment and brightens up our homes.”
After 3 months of beta testing, Cabinet Health Rx has built a waitlist of over 20,000 patients signed up to join the new service. More than 66% of US adults are on 3-22 active prescriptions a year; Cabinet Rx addresses the growing plastic waste crisis that rests in every household in America. At launch, Cabinet is focused on delivering to direct-to-consumer patients and in the future plans to serve B2B through pharmacies, hospitals, and other key partners in the healthcare system.
“When just one single patient switches to Cabinet Health Rx, we are able to divert hundreds of pounds of pharmaceutical plastic over the course of their lifetime,” said Russell Gong, co-founder & President of Cabinet. “When the industry makes the sustainable switch – multiple households, pharmacies, and hospital systems – that’s when true transformation occurs. We believe we can eliminate the plastic waste crisis in healthcare entirely.”
To sign up with Cabinet Health Rx, patients simply transfer their prescriptions from their current pharmacy by initiating Cabinet’s fast transfer request on www.cabinethealth.com. Cabinet’s transfer requests take less than 60 seconds and each patient is assigned a care professional to manage the transfer. Once a Cabinet patient, refills and renewals are handled by the Cabinet Health Rx care team.
To deliver world-class patient experience and pharmacy operations, Cabinet Health Rx combines leading technology and pharmacy practitioners. The backend of Cabinet Health Rx is operated by an in-house digital platform led and developed by VP of Digital and Engineering, Tyler Martin.
