Syniverse Named Leader in Mobile Roaming by Kaleido Intelligence for Third Straight Year

Company also singled out for excellence in data and financial clearing in annual industry report

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Syniverse, "the world's most connected company,"® has been recognized as the leader in mobile roaming by Kaleido Intelligence for the third consecutive year and once again been named the top vendor for data and financial clearing.

These achievements, featured in Kaleido's annual Roaming Vendor Hub report, demonstrate the breadth of Syniverse's roaming solutions and its promise to provide top-of-the-line products and services to mobile network operators amid the global adoption of next-generation and 5G network technology.

Kaleido, a specialist consulting and market research firm, evaluated 136 offerings from 51 companies in eight service areas over a four-month period. Syniverse was named the leader in mobile roaming after earning the highest designation, "champion," in six service areas. In addition to achieving top marks in data and financial clearing for the second year running, Syniverse was honored as a "champion" in internetwork packet exchange (IPX), sponsored roaming, roaming hubs, roaming analytics and value-added services (VAS), and fraud management.

"Our position as the top roaming vendor for the third consecutive year, as well as again being named the top choice for data and financial clearing, is a reflection of how we're relentlessly fulfilling the varying needs of our customers," said Syniverse CEO Andrew Davies. "Being honored as a 'champion' in six of Kaleido's eight service areas shows we remain committed to providing innovative solutions to the emerging challenges in the industry — including in wholesale roaming monetization, where our BCE-compliant product empowers mobile network operators with incomparable billing, charging, and clearing services."

Syniverse's Universal Commerce solution standardizes, automates, and scales billing and payment processes between home and visited mobile carriers, allowing mobile network operators (MNOs) to easily monetize new technologies and services that result from 5G network rollouts. It meets the GSMA's BCE industry standard — Syniverse was the first to adopt and support that standard for wholesale roaming billing — and provides granular, up-to-date insight into an MNO's roaming revenues.

"As 5G leads to a surge in global roaming possibilities, operators are finding it increasingly crucial to scrutinize and monetize the traffic that crosses their networks," said Syniverse Chief Product Officer John Wick. "Kaleido's recognition proves how thoroughly we empower them to do so."

Syniverse's IPX — which reaches more than 5 billion subscribers, or two-thirds of the global population — was also judged by Kaleido as an exceptional performer as it received 13 out of a possible 15 points. Likewise, Syniverse's Total Visibility solution, a cross-platform reporting analytics tool that carries out real-time signaling analysis to ensure roamers receive high-quality service, lifted the company's performance in roaming analytics and VAS.

Kaleido also upgraded Syniverse's standing in sponsored roaming to "champion" from "high flyer," its term for vendors who have a highly regarded and comprehensive industry offering. It named Syniverse a "high flyer" in steering of roaming and "established" in signaling firewall security.

"Syniverse's commitment to innovation, coupled with their comprehensive range of roaming solutions, has firmly established them as industry leaders," said Nitin Bhas, Chief of Strategy and Insights at Kaleido Intelligence. "Their consistent track record of providing dependable roaming products and maintaining a robust partner network underscores Syniverse's pivotal role. With a forward-looking approach to next-generation roaming services, including 5G and IoT offerings, and a commitment to addressing technology gaps for customers, Syniverse plays a key role in shaping the future of the roaming landscape."

The Kaleido Roaming Vendor Hub rankings are based on analysis of a company's market positioning, problem-solving capabilities, innovation, and leadership, as well as its ability to meet its customers' needs.
