LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) commended U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) for hosting a press conference in Washington State today with a coalition of health care providers and pharmacists on Senate Bill 4293, a PBM reform bill the senator introduced last year alongside U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and is carefully shepherding through Congress.
The pharmacist often is the person most closely in touch with the patient and trusted by the patient to provide confidential support like home deliveries. PBMs smash that model of care. AHF fully supports Senator Cantwell's bill to rein in PBM abuses.

According to Cantwell’s website, “The Pharmacy Benefit Manager Transparency Act of 2022 would ban unfair pricing schemes, prohibit arbitrary ‘clawbacks’ of payments made to pharmacies, and require PBMs to report to the FTC how much money they make through spread pricing and pharmacy fees.”

They force patients into mail order, breaking their tie with their pharmacist.
