EverC to Launch First-ever Safer Ecommerce Day on Nov. 1, 2023

New National Day to Raise Awareness about Ecommerce Risk

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EverC, a pioneer in AI-driven merchant and marketplace risk intelligence and insights for companies in the ecommerce ecosystem, is pleased to announce the first ever Safer Ecommerce Day on Nov. 1, 2023.

Conceived and sponsored by EverC, this new national day is dedicated to educating key players in the payments industry about online commerce risk and best practices for safer ecommerce. It will involve online marketplaces, associations, and entities that are working together to make ecommerce safer, through technology, solutions, regulations, and initiatives. Most important, it will function as a platform to raise awareness about the far-reaching effects of ecommerce fraud on the global community, and how payment providers can help disrupt it for the betterment of the world.

The past few years have seen a proliferation of online financial crime conducted via ecommerce channels. We are no longer dealing with individual threats – today’s bad actors operate in collaborative criminal networks that prey on victims and organizations using highly sophisticated methods.

This unified threat landscape has the potential to negatively impact everyone in the ecommerce ecosystem: buyers, sellers, banks and acquirers that enable payment processing, and marketplace platforms where legitimate entities conduct business. These crimes also fund bigger crimes such as human trafficking and terrorism, making it a serious global problem.
