Newsweek names Alliant Energy on its inaugural World’s Most Trustworthy Companies list

Study tracks customer, investor and employee trust

MADISON, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Newsweek named Alliant Energy (NASDAQ: LNT) on its Inaugural list of the World’s Most Trustworthy Companies for 2023.

Newsweek and Statista, an independent data research firm, identified the companies on the list through a survey that covered 23 industries in 21 countries. They asked over 70,000 participants around the world to evaluate statements such as, "I trust in this company to treat me fairly as its customer," "I trust that this company is competently led," and "I believe this company treats its employees fairly."

“The inclusion in Newsweek’s World’s Most Trustworthy Companies list underscores our unwavering commitment to our core value of doing the right thing,” said Lisa Barton, President and Chief Operations Officer at Alliant Energy. “Our continued dedication to transparency with our customers, employees and investors remains at the heart of our purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.”

Participants rated companies in terms of three touchpoints: Customer trust, investor trust and employee trust. Newsweek and Statista gathered and analyzed a total of 269,000 evaluations of different companies. For each company that received substantial evaluations, including Alliant Energy, the surveyors conducted social listening analyses, tracking the sentiment toward the companies on several segments of the internet.

The study considered all stock-listed companies headquartered in one of the target countries with a revenue of over $500 million. A complete list of the companies is available online at https://www.newsweek.com/rankings/worlds-most-trustworthy-companies-2023.
